A Roswell man was arrested seven days after he fled from a traffic stop in an allegedly stolen car.
Christian Analla, 34, was arrested on Sept. 1 after police said he fled from an officer who pulled him over on Aug. 25, according to court records.
Analla is charged with one count of aggravated fleeing an officer, a fourth-degree felony, and faces three other charges from previously outstanding warrants: one for auto theft and two for violating probation.
Roswell Police Sgt. Scott Wrenn wrote in court documents that when he pulled over Analla on Aug. 25, in a vehicle that had been reported stolen, he knew that Analla was wanted on the three other warrants. He tried to partially block in Analla’s car, read the report, after he pulled into a driveway. Wrenn ordered the people in the vehicle out at gunpoint. A woman got out, but then Wrenn reported Analla reversed and then accelerated through a nearby front yard to escape.
Roswell Police Agent B. Barela arrested Analla on Sept. 1 on the warrants and charged him additionally with resisting arrest, Barela wrote in a statement of probable cause.
Barela wrote that he found Analla at 500 E. Deming and he already knew Analla was, at that point, wanted on four arrest warrants. Multiple officers swarmed the area. Analla was “tucked into a corner” in a nearby alley.
The prior cases included a misdemeanor charge for embezzlement of a vehicle filed on Aug. 24, a probation violation warrant in a case where he previously pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and a probation violation in a 2019 case where he pleaded no contest to trafficking and felon in possession of a firearm, according to court records.
Following the arrest, Magistrate Judge K.C. Rogers ordered Analla released on his own recognizance in fleeing case, according to a court docket.
Analla has not been arraigned, or ordered released, on the two probation violation cases.
Roswell Police Officer M. Flores sought the warrant on the embezzlement of a vehicle charge, filed on Aug. 24. The car that was allegedly stolen was a 2023 Chevrolet Malibu, the same vehicle that Wrenn tried to stop.
