A body was found Wednesday night in Chaves County and the death being investigated as a homicide.
Chaves County Undersheriff Charles Yslas told El Rito Media in a text message early Thursday morning that deputies and detectives were on scene overnight after receiving a call at approximately 8:45 p.m. about a body found in the area of Alamo Road.
When they arrived, deputies determined the individual was deceased.
“Based on preliminary evidence, this is being investigated as a homicide,” Yslas said. He added that no other information would be provided to the media and the public about the case or the body found until a positive identification is made and next of kin are notified.
