Goddard and Roswell boys’ soccer district openers postponed again due to saturated fields

The Goddard and Roswell boys soccer teams’ district openers at the Cielo Grande Sports Complex are postponed again because of saturated fields.

The Rockets (4-8) were slated to open District 4-4A play against Artesia (6-4-1) at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, on the West Field. The match was first pushed to 6 p.m. tonight before being postponed again. According to MaxPreps, Goddard and Artesia will meet at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10. Before then, the Rockets take on Lovington (4-7-1) at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Wildcat Stadium.

The Coyotes (13-1) were originally set to open District 4-5A play against Clovis (9-4) at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, on the East Field. The match was also rescheduled for 6 p.m. tonight before being postponed again. According to Coyotes head coach Robert Madrid, Roswell and Clovis will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10. Before then, Roswell faces Hobbs (13-0-1) at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, on the road.
