I am a sports reporter for the Roswell Tribune and serve with the New Mexico Local News Fellowship, which places emerging journalists in newsrooms across the state. My role is to cover all athletic programs at Goddard and Roswell high schools. The primary types of stories I write are season and game previews, season and game reviews, and feature stories. Prior to the Roswell Tribune, I interned for the Artesia Daily Press as a reporter from June to August 2025, and I am glad to be back working with El Rito Media. I am a 2026 graduate of New Mexico State University, where I obtained my bachelor's degree in journalism, with minors in strategic communications and social media management.

Goddard football earns No. 7 seed, draws Highland in Class 5A playoff opener

The Goddard Rockets football team secured the No. 7 seed in the Class 5A state tournament when the New Mexico Activities Association released its playoff bracket on Sunday. Goddard (4-6, 3-4 District 2-5A) will host No. 10-seeded Highland Hornets (5-5, 3-4 District 1-5A) at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Wool Bowl in a first-round matchup. The game is an elimination contest, with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals.

Roswell football claims No. 1 seed, earns first-round bye in Class 5A playoffs

The Roswell Coyotes football team secured the No. 1 seed in the Class 5A state tournament when the New Mexico Activities Association revealed its bracket on Sunday. The Coyotes (9-1, 7-0 District 2-5A) earned a first-round bye and will host a quarterfinal game against the winner of the first-round matchup between No. 8 Santa Fe and No. 9 Cibola. The game is scheduled to meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Ivan Head Stadium in Santa Fe. Roswell’s quarterfinal game is tentatively scheduled for either 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, or 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Wool Bowl, according to head coach Jeff Lynn.

Goddard Boys Soccer Endures Challenges, Finishes 6-13-2 After State Loss

The No. 14-seeded Goddard boys soccer team saw its Class 4A state tournament run end Wednesday with a 5-0 road loss to No. 3 Santa Teresa in the first round. The Rockets finished the season 6-13-2, improving by two victories from the previous year.

Roswell Girls Soccer Ends Season After First-Round Loss to Rio Rancho

The No. 11-seeded Roswell girls soccer team saw its Class 5A state tournament run end Thursday night, falling 2-0 on the road to No. 6 Rio Rancho in the first round. Despite the loss, the Coyotes finished the season with a 12-6-3 record and captured the District 4-5A title with a 4-0-2 mark. Roswell also recorded 11 shutout victories.

Despite a late rally that nearly erased a 21-point deficit, the Goddard Rockets football team fell to the Roswell Coyotes 42-35 on Friday night at the Wool Bowl. Trailing 42-21 with four minutes remaining, Goddard scored two touchdowns and recovered an onside kick.

Roswell Boys Soccer Finishes 18-2-1 After First-Round Loss to Centennial

The No. 2-seeded Roswell boys soccer team saw its Class 5A state tournament run end Wednesday night at Cielo Grande Sports Complex, falling 2-1 to No. 15 Centennial in a first-round upset. Despite the loss, the Coyotes finished with an 18-2-1 record, the second-best in program history. Only the 2013 team had a better mark, going 22-1 and winning the state championship with a 1-0 victory over Albuquerque Academy.
