The Goddard Rockets will get their second test of the young season at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, when the boys’ and girls’ cross country teams return to competition at the Jesus Fierro Invitational at Alta Vista Middle School in Carlsbad.
Roswell football turns its attention to Randall after opening the season with a wild 64-60 victory over Hobbs. The Coyotes, led by quarterback Andruw Fuentez’s seven touchdown passes, face the Raiders at 7 p.m. Friday in Amarillo. Randall is making its season debut after going 10-3 in 2025, while Roswell looks to improve defensively.
