Goddard soccer district openers postponed due to wet fields

The Goddard boys and girls soccer teams’ district openers at the Cielo Grande Sports Complex have been postponed because of wet field conditions.

The boys (4-8) were scheduled to open District 4-4A play against Portales (3-9-1) at 6 p.m. tonight. According to MaxPreps, the game has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22. Before then, the Rockets will return to Cielo Grande to take on Artesia (5-4-1) at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29.

The girls (0-13) were scheduled to face Lovington (4-5-1) at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26. According to MaxPreps, the match has been moved to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12. The Rockets will next take the field against Artesia (10-3-1) at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at the Mack Chase Athletic Complex.
