Roswell’s annual Chile Cheese Festival brought residents and visitors downtown for fresh-roasted green chile, local vendors, live performances and an entertaining ice cream-eating contest. Held outside the Chaves County Courthouse, the Sept. 24 celebration highlighted local flavor and community traditions, with festivalgoers enjoying music, dancing and handmade ristras from Graves Farm and Garden.

The Roswell Coyotes football team will host the Gadsden Panthers at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, at the Wool Bowl.

U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-NM), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, sponsored the funding’s inclusion in the bill. He announced Monday, Sept. 28, that the money was delivered to New Mexico after the legislation passed the U.S. Senate on Jan. 15.

At a Sept. 18 campaign stop in Carlsbad, she said her team proposed eight dates for debates to Hull's campaign, which rejected all of them.

The Roswell Lady Coyotes (5-9) defeated the Artesia Lady Bulldogs (10-5) in five sets (25-20, 24-26, 14-25, 25-23, 15-6) at home Tuesday, Sept. 29.

New Mexicans disagree about plenty of things politically. But one frustration that crosses party lines and reaches from Albuquerque and Santa Fe to Las Cruces, Farmington, Roswell and our rural communities is that Washington is not working as well as Americans expect it to.

The Clovis fisherman’s victory – his fourth of the season– also earned him Angler of the Year honors, vaulting him from second place to first in the NMBNKA series standings. The standings are based on points awarded for tournament finishes throughout the season.

These individuals are living proof that the American Dream is alive and flourishing and pose a stark contrast to what is being proselytized today.
