Roswell volleyball defensive specialist Avi Sanchez and Roswell football wide receiver Danny Castro won Athlete of the Week.

Here are this week’s nominees:

Marcos Moreno, Goddard boys soccer goalkeeper

Moreno made several key saves in the Rockets’ first 18 games.

Axel Sanchez, Roswell boys soccer forward

Sanchez is second on the team in goals scored with 27.

Melanie Delaney, Goddard girls cross country

“Delaney has been our best girl runner from start to now,” Rockets cross country head coach Dewayne Roberts said.

Makenzie Hoover, Roswell girls cross country

“Hoover is our leader,” Coyotes cross country head coach Gabriel Vidal said. “She’s always ready to go out there and push the pace.”
