I am a sports reporter for the Roswell Tribune and serve with the New Mexico Local News Fellowship, which places emerging journalists in newsrooms across the state. My role is to cover all athletic programs at Goddard and Roswell high schools. The primary types of stories I write are season and game previews, season and game reviews, and feature stories. Prior to the Roswell Tribune, I interned for the Artesia Daily Press as a reporter from June to August 2025, and I am glad to be back working with El Rito Media. I am a 2026 graduate of New Mexico State University, where I obtained my bachelor's degree in journalism, with minors in strategic communications and social media management.

Roswell-Goddard football rivalry returns with playoff seeding on the line

The Roswell Coyotes and Goddard Rockets will meet at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the Wool Bowl for the 67th installment of their crosstown rivalry. Roswell leads the all-time series 41-22-3 and won the most recent meeting, defeating Goddard 35-21 in 2025. The Rockets’ last regular-season victory over the Coyotes came Nov. 7, 2014, when they prevailed 21-10. Goddard’s most recent victory over Roswell came in the 2021 Class 5A state tournament quarterfinals, when the Rockets won 14-3.

Goddard boys soccer falls to Santa Teresa in state playoffs

Artesia edges Goddard after blocked extra point and lightning delay

Goddard football fell to Artesia Friday at the Wool Bowl after lightning halted play with 10.2 seconds remaining in the third quarter. The Rockets rallied behind touchdowns from Eli Cooper, Noah Lujan and Nate Vazquez, but Ivan Chavez blocked Braden McDaniel’s potential game-tying extra point. Goddard next faces crosstown rival Roswell.
